The Columbus Hand Institute has deep roots in Columbus and its surrounding healthcare communities. Drawing from Dr. Blake’s training in physical therapy and his Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery – a globally recognized certification that only fellowship-trained hand surgeons can receive via clinical examination – the new practice has a patient-centered approach to hand care, with a focus on prevention and wellness.

Our goal at the Columbus Hand Institute is to provide healing with a wide range of surgical and non-surgical services focused on the hand and upper extremity. We utilize advanced diagnostics, including an extremities-only MRI, to ensure accurate, comfortable, and efficient evaluations tailored specifically to our patients’ needs.

Dr. Blake performs a wide array of surgeries, including:
- Thumb arthroplasty for arthritis
- Wrist reconstruction
- Nerve repair
- Hand trauma
- Endoscopic carpal tunnel release and revision carpal tunnel surgery
- Trigger finger release
- Joint replacements in the hand
- Tendon and ligament repair
- Repair of fractures (wrist, fingers, hand)
- Cyst removals, such as ganglion cysts
- Neuromas
- Tendon transfers
- Cubital tunnel release (funny bone nerve)
- Surgical treatment for rheumatoid arthritis

Hand Therapy
- Dr. Blake also holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and prioritizes therapy to help patients avoid surgery whenever possible
